I love fall! Who doesn't? Pumpkin patches, the leaves change colors, hayrides and homemade apple cider. The air is crisp and cool. You get to wear long sleeves and boots. How about some new cute, handmade clothes for fall?

My friend, Hannah is a graphic designer. She made my logo for Cloud Nine Designz.

Hannah, has a new line of fall inspired t-shirts on her etsy shop, Pretty Print Shop. They are adorable! Preorders are on sale now through the 2nd of September. Make sure you grab a shirt or bundle before they sell out.

(Also available in short sleeves)

I am loving these new items. I am going to go grab myself a long sleeved tee and mug. You come and do the same. Hannah's birthday was yesterday, so come support her and handmade!

A Way to Save On College Text Books

We all know that college is expensive. From actually paying for tuition, books,  meals, gas, and going out with friends, it adds up fast. Add in my case I was paying for my sorority dues and raising money for crew since Murray State University was not funding our sport yet. It can be overwhelming and when I was home on break, I was working to be able to do the things I loved when I went back to campus. And  that meant working 3 jobs all summer long, when I should have been enjoying my summer break.

Well, I know how you can get a little relief. Look at, Campus Book Rental. They are a great site that allows students to rent textbooks.  They are a great site that allows students to rent textbooks. Some of the perks of renting books from this site are:
 - Save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
- Free shipping both ways
- You can highlight in the textbooks
- Flexible renting periods
-They donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented.

                             More on Operation Smile

I love organizations that help our charities. Campus Book Rentals partners with Operation Smile. They are committed to donate a minimum of 80 surgeries between June 2013 through June 2014. That is awesome.Operation Smile changes children's lives through reconstructive cleft lip surgeries. The long-term improvement in the quality of life, for children that receive these surgeries is amazing. I actually grew up going to school with a friend who was born with a cleft lip and has seen the dramatic changes from having surgeries for this condition. This is a great organization, please take the time to learn more and help those children in need at the same time.

Make Up for Sensitive Skin

I have extremely sensitive skin. Growing up I burned every summer as a kid, no matter how much sunscreen my Mother put on me. As I made my way through my teenage into adult years, I spent a long time trying different make up. And as a poor college student, I wanted to buy the cheapest products. That was always a bad decision on my part. My face became dry, itchy and irritated. Plus sleeping in my make up was never good for my skin... Some days my face will be red and puffy, especially around my eyes.

Then a few years ago I started using Clinique and was quite happy with the results. Then after using it awhile my eyelids from mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow would once again be red and puffy at the end of the day. Then I had to throw all of my makeup away and try to start over and find something that works.

Now my days of hunting for makeup is over. Please meet Root Pretty. Root Pretty is based out of Iowa, and is makeup made for sensitive skin. Root Pretty only uses natural ingredients. I love that this is a USA company and is run by a small group of people. I love supporting other small businesses like myself.

The makeup and other products are Ah-Mazing! I love that this is the only brand I know that lasts all day long. Touch ups are not needed and my skin is not irritated at all. This is a win in my book! They have everything from mineral makeup to brushes and you can even buy samples.  And shipping is only $5 for orders under $45 (USA). That is a steal! And my lovely International readers can purchase from Root Pretty as well.

Right now I am loving my Root Pretty Balm in Merlot. It slides on and is not sticky. The color is a wine but it is not too bold of a color.

I cannot wait to try some of their new product  like the liquid eye liner and beauty sleep perfecting serum. Run and check out this great company. Your face will thank you for it!. Follow Root Pretty here:

Crock Pot Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe

There is only a few days left in March, yet in Ohio, it is still really cold. The high here today is 38. I can feel the chill of the wind coming through my window and I may hunt down some gloves in a bit so I can feel my fingers again. So, why not warm up with some soup?

I love crock pot meals. They are so easy to make. I just put everything in and go about my day. Even better when you are gone all day long and come home to the house smelling wonderful! I grew up eating Campbell's chicken noodle soup from the can. I always remember it being very greasy. Now, we have this healthy version. And don't forget to buy some thick bread like a sourdough for dunking the juice up. Stay warm my friends!

* Prep Time: 15 Minutes
*Cook Time: 7 Hours
*Feeds: 4-5 Servings

* 1 1/2 lbs Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
* 1 3/4 Cups of Peeled and Chopped Carrots (I use the mini, baby carrots and cut them up. Bonus:      they are already peeled.
* 1 Small Yellow Onion, Chopped
* 2 Cups Uncooked Egg Noodles
* 1/2 Cup Chopped Celery
* Dash of Garlic Powder
* 3 Tbsp Olive Oil
* 3 - 15 oz Cans of Chicken Broth
* 1 Cup of Water
* 1/2 tsp Thyme
* 1 Tbsp Lime Juice
* 3 Tbsp Chopped Parsley
* Salt and Pepper to Taste
* Bread for Dipping (Optional)

Take your chicken and cut off excess fat. Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces. Take out your crock pot and add the uncooked chicken with the carrots, onion, celery and garlic. Drizzle the olive oil over the top of the chicken and veggies. Add in the chicken broth, water, thyme and salt and pepper. Cook this for 6 - 7 hours on low.

Once that is done add the egg noodles and parsley. Up the crock pot to high and cook for another ten minutes or until the egg noodles are tender. Stir in lemon juice. Serve with warm bread and enjoy!

White Chicken Chili Recipe

The weather lately here has been in the 50's. I think we had maybe a week of light snow in the November/December. Tonight it is suppose to be 3* at night. Chilly. Let's warm up with some crock pot soup! I love the crock pot. It is so easy to throw everything in and come home to a yummy smell.

 1 32 oz box of chicken stock

2 cans of white beads, left undrained.

5 cups of cooked chicken

1 16 oz jar of mild salsa

1 8 oz block of pepper jack cheese, grated

dash of garlic salt for taste

dash black and white pepper for taste

1/2 cup of crushed tortilla chips (optional, if you like your chili thicker)

sour cream for garnish (optional, if you like your chili thicker)

1. Place chicken in the crock pot and let that sit until cooked all the way.

2. Once the chicken is cooked add all the other ingredients in the crock pot on top of the chicken, except for the sour cream and chips. Leave in 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high.

3. Leave sit until all the cheese is melted. I stir occasionally to break up the cheese and have it melt faster.

4. When the chili is ready I add broken chips and sour cream to the chili and mix to thicken up the soup. Then I garnish the soup in bowls with additional chips and sour cream.

5. This makes about 6 servings. I usually have it eaten in 2-3 days because it is that good.
